‘Change should be made in education to remove corruption’

Staff Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said that only law is not enough to curb corruption. Change should be made in syllabus of the education system to remove corruption from the society.

The minister made the opinion while addressing a seminar at national press club in the capital on Sunday.

He said “In our childhood, we learnt from Adarshalipi that ‘Always speak the truth’ which changed our mindset. If our children learn these values then they will not do corruption in future.”

I will request the education minister to add these in the syllabus of our text books, he said.

The minister also said, “I think integrated initiatives should be taken to face corruption. That’s why the use of information and technology should be ensured in all sectors.”

Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, convener of Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum presided over the seminar where Dr. Biswajit Ghosh, Vice-Chancellor Rabindra University, Columnist and security analyst Major General AK Mohammad Ali Shikdar (retd), Dr Milton Biswas, Economist Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam and others attended the function.
