Chawkbazar fire probe report on July 18

Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka asked the investigation officer of the case filed over the fire in capital’s Chawkbazar to submit the probe report on July 18.

Dhaka additional metropolitan magistrate Qaisarul Islam passed the order on Monday.

The court fixed the new date as the investigation officer Inspector Moradul Islam failed to submit the report today.

On April 2, two sons of Wahed Mansion’s owner surrendered before the court and sought bail plea. The court sent them to jail after hearing. Later, on April 8, the court accepted seven days remand of the duo.

On February 20, a total of 71 people were killed and many more were injured in the fire which originated from the Wahed Mansion in Churihatta of Chawk Bazar.
