Chawkbazar fire: 11 bodies identified

Staff Correspondent: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has identified 11 people who were burnt in the Chawkbazar fire.
Rumana Akhtar, CID’s special police superintendent, disclosed this at a press briefing on Wednesday.
“We have submitted the DNA test reports of 11 people to the authorities today. They will handle the matter,” she said.
The fire that broke out in Chawkbazar's Churihatta on February 20 claimed the lives of 71 people so far.
The chemical-fed fire spread through five buildings in Chawkbazar. Fire fighters said they recovered 67 bodies from the spot.
The four others died when they were being treated for their burn injuries.
