Chief Justice is not ill: BNP

Senior Correspondent: BNP has claimed that Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha is not ill, and he has been forced to go on leave.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the claim at a press conference in the city on Wednesday noon.

“We believe he was put under tremendous pressure and We all know that the government and a political party were pressurising him after a judgement”, he said.

“We believe that he was sent on leave as part of such pressure,” he said.

On Tuesday, Law Minister Anisul Huq said “The chief justice has been suffering from cancer and different other ailments.  That’s why he has decided to take one-month leave”.
