College student hacked dead in Jashore

Jashore Correspondent: Miscreants chopped a college student to death over a trifle matter in Sheikh Hati Jorapukur area of the district town on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Mamun, a student of M M College, son of late Abdur Rauf.

Locals said that a college student named Bappi went to visit the area with his girlfriend on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, a group of miscreants demanded extortion from them. Meanwhile, two college students Mamun and Arif rushed to the spot to save their friend. At one stage, they locked into clash with the miscreants, leaving Mamun dead on the spot.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Apurba Hasan confirmed the matter.
