Comilla Division will be named as Maynamati

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has mentioned that the newly proposed administrative division Comilla will be named as Maynamati.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told this to journalists after an  ECNEC meeting held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at NEC conference room at Sher-e-Banglanagar in the city on Tuesday.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Comilla division will be named as Maynamati”, he said.

“From now no division will be named after the district names. Different names will be used in this respect”, Mustafa Kamal said.

 

He also hoped the people of Comilla will accept this new name gladly.
