Comilla beat Rangpur by 4 wickets

Sports Desk: Comilla Victorians beat Rangpur Riders by four wickets in the 35th Match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)- 2017 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Dhaka on Friday.

Comilla Victorians' captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Rangpur Riders were bowled out for 97 runs in just 17.1 overs. Brendon McCullum scored the highest 24 runs off 31 balls with two fours and a six.



Chris Gayle returned to the pavilion for golden duck while his opening partner Ziaur Rahman bagged 6 runs off 9 balls with a four.

Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Mithun scored 17 runs off 14 balls with three fours while Sohag Gazi hit 12 runs from 10 balls with a four.

Ravi Bopara scored 4 runs off 6 balls while Chamara Kapugedera bagged 2 runs off 4 balls. Nahidul Islam scored 6runs off 9 balls while Captain Mashrafe Mortaza hit 9 off 12 with a four.



Isuru Udana bagged 9 runs off 6 balls and Nazmul Islam (unbeaten) scored 1 run from 3 balls.

In reply, Comilla Victorians opener Tamim Iqbal scored 22 runs off 22 balls which includes three fours a six.

Shoaib Malik hit 20 runs off 24 balls with two fours and a six while Marlon Samuels (unbeaten) scored 16 runs off 18 balls with two fours. 

Imrul Kayes hit 14 runs off 26 runs with a four and Hassan Ali (unbeaten) scored hit a six from a ball to help the Victorians to clinch the win.

Mohammad Saifuddin scored 5 runs off 10 balls while Jos Buttler hit five runs off nine balls with a four.

Wicketkeeper batsman and Tamim's opening partner Liton Das scored three runs off 7 balls.
