Comilla civil surgeon among 3 summoned

Staff Correspondent: The High Court summoned three people, including the Civil Surgeon of Comilla, to appear before it on November 7 to explain the incident of leaving a baby inside of a woman during a caesarian operation.

A High Court bench, led by Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury passed the order on Sunday.

Earlier, a doctor at a hospital in Comilla took out one half of a pair of twins from the womb of a woman and stitched the belly keeping the other inside thinking it to be a tumour.

Later, one month and seven days after the caesarian section, the other baby was brought out from the womb at Dhaka Medical College Hospital but it was dead by the time.
