Cop among 4 receive bullet injury at Chandanaish

Staff Correspondent: At least four people including a policeman were injured by bullets in a clash at polling centre in Chandanaish upazila of Chattogram during upazila polls on Sunday.

The incident took place around 10:00am at Chandanaish government primary school, leaving policeman Farhad Hossain, 30, and others bullet injured.

Confirming the matter, Chandanaish police station officer-in-charge said, two group locked into gunfight centering supremacy in the voting center that left four people bullet injured.

Critically injured police member Farhad was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

Voting in elections to 117 upazila parishads is underway in the third phase of the local body polls. Upazila Awami League backed candidate AKM Nazim Uddin and his rival candidate Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury are contesting the upazila polls.
