Staff Correspondent: Four cops who were on duty in front of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence have been withdrawn.

Shamsuddin Didar, a member of BNP chairperson's media wing, told this to the reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

He said, “The four police men who were on duty in front of Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence were withdrawn around 3:30pm.”

He, however, could not tell any reason of withdrawing the cops.

A Sub-Inspector (SI) and three constables were on duty in front of BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence for long days.

When contacted, Abu Bakar Siddique, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station, told risingbd that he heard the matter. But he did not tell anything else clearly.

“The residence is under the diplomatic zone. I can tell details after gathering information later,” he added.

BNP Chief Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment in a graft case on February 8. Since, she has been in the old-Dhaka central jail.
