Counting goes on in CCC polls

Staff Correspondent: Vote counting begins as soon as voting ended peacefully in Comilla City Corporation (CCC) election in Comilla on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier in the morning, the polls began at 8:00am and continued till 4:00pm amid tight security across the municipality.
No untoward situation and violence was reported during the polls except some sporadic incidents.
A total of 207,566 voters--102,447 males and 105,119 females--are expected to exercise their voting rights to elect their city mayor, 27 general councillors and nine women councilors.
