‘Country to see maximum budget this time’

Economic Correspondent: National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, “The country is advancing and going to see maximum budget in the fiscal year 2018-19. So, everybody will have to work for the country from their own position.”

The NBR chairman made the comments while addressing a discussion titled ‘Gourab 71’ as special guest at Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad auditorium of Bangla Academy in the capital on Saturday, marking 47 years of independence.

Former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique presided over the function where Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was present as the chief guest.

Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, “It is no longer possible to stop the progress of Bangladesh. The country must go forward. This time, the size of budget for the fiscal year 2018-19 will be the maximum. Bangladesh keeps setting an instance for other countries of the world.”

In the function, ten distinguished persons were given award in ten categories in recognition of their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.
