Ctg range DIG temporarily suspended

Staff Correspondent: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police of Chittagong Range Md Shakhawat Hossain has temporarily been suspended over women repression cases filed against him by his wife.

Public Safety Department of the Home Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.

His wife Farzana Sharmin filed four cases against Shakhawat Hossain for allegedly demanding dowry and torturing her.

According to the notification, "A court issued arrest warrant against Shakhawat. Then, he got bail after appearing before the court on February 13."

"According to the Public Administration Ministry decision, an official who secured bail would be considered as to be confined in the prison. So, he was temporarily suspended," the notification revealed.
