Customs Intelligence seizes ex-Egypt envoy's car

MA Rahman: Customs Intelligence seized a vehicle of former Egypt ambassador to Dhaka Mahmud Ezzat after being accused of misuse of duty-free benefits.

The law enforcers seized the Range Rover car from a residence at Road-11 diplomatic zone-1, Baridhara in the capital on Sunday.

Dr. Moinul Khan, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

He said that acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence conducted drive in the area and seized the car Range Rover vogue-2014 (Da 68-016). former Egypt ambassador to Dhaka used the car. Later, he handed over the car to another owner illegally.

The car was valued at Tk six crore including additional tax, he added.
