Cyclone Fani: 7 killed in 4 districts

Desk Report: At least seven people have been killed and scores injured in four districts after cyclonic storm Fani struck the coastal areas of Bangladesh, destroying hundreds of houses and trees.

The casualties occurred in Barguna, Sirajganj, Noakhali and Bhola districts on Saturday morning.

In Sirajganj, a grandfather and his granddaughter were killed when a heavy tree branch fell on in Bhanudanga village of Kazipur upazila.

In Bhola, a woman, Rani Begum, 45, wife of Samsul Haque of Dakshin Dighaldi union in Bhola sadar upazila, was killed and inujured 25 others after the house collapsed on her during storm on Saturday morning.

In Noakhali, two-year-old Md Ismail, son of Abdur Rahman of Char Aminul Haque village, died and 30 others injured in Char Wapda and in Char Jabbar unions of Subarnachar upazila.

In Barguna, two members of a family were killed when tree log fell on them during the cyclone in Charduani Bandhakathi village in Patharghata upazila.
