DMP bans use of firecrackers

Staff Correspondent: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a ban on carrying explosives, crackers and explosion of firecrackers in the areas of its jurisdiction in the capital ahead the holy Shab-e-Barat.
A press release signed by DMP commissioner confirmed the matter on Monday.
According to the official release, the restriction has been enforced under section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance-1976 (Ord. No. III of 1976), for maintaining the sanctity and ensuring peaceful observation of the Shab-e-Barat.
The restriction will come into force from 6:00pm Tuesday (May1) to 6:00am Wednesday.
