Staff Correspondent: Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed restriction on plying vehicles on 25 points of streets in Dhaka on Thursday ahead of grand rally of Bangladesh Islamic Foundation at Suhrawardy Udyan.
Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Asaduzzaman Mia made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at DMP media center on Wednesday.
Over two lakh musullis and 2,500 vehicles will enter into Dhaka during the grand rally.
No one will be allowed to enter into the conference venue without pass cards and invitation, DMB commissioner said.
According to DMP guideline streets adjacent to Bijoy Shorani, Khamarbari, Banglamotor, Moghbazar, Paribagh, Sakura lane, Police building, Shabjibagan, eastern side of Mintoo Road, Officers’Club, Kakrail Church, Shilpyakala Academy, Anti-Corruption commission office, Fishery Building, Kadam Foara, High Court, Shahidullah Hall, Bakshibazar, Palashi, Nilkhet, Ruman Square, Katabon, Shahbagh, and Aziz Super Market area will temporarily be shut down from 12:00pm on the day.
Moreover, transport plying will be stopped from both routes of Shahbagh to Fishery Building and Shahbagh to Doyel Crossing via Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) from 10:30am.
