DNCC launches hotline to eradicate mosquitoes

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has launched a hotline number (01932 665 544) aiming to conduct the mosquito eradication programme.

DNCC has taken the decision to reach the service at doorsteps of people as mosquito has increased alarmingly recently.

A press statement sent by DNCC revealed the news on Tuesday.

According to the press statement, the hotline number (01932665544) will remain open for all from February 28.

City dwellers living in the DNCC areas can call to the number from 9:00am to 5:00pm everyday and ask for spraying medicine in their respective areas to eradicate mosquito, the release said, adding that the DNCC authority would spray medicine in the area by 24 hours after receiving the call.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the city corporation held at the DNCC Nagar Bhaban on February 25 with its Chief Executive Officer Md Mesbahul Islam in the chair.

Besides, the meeting also decided to extend the duration of mosquito eradication crash programme up to March 15 from February 28.

Mosquito Killing Standing Committee President Dr Md Jinnat Ali and senior officials of the city corporation and officials of different societies attended the meeting, among others.
