‘DNCC removes waste on declared time’

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Panel Mayor Jamal Mostafa said that waste of sacrificial animals was removed from his city the scheduled time of 24 hours.”

He said, “The city corporation authorities, as declared earlier, could complete the challenging task of cleaning waste of sacrificial animals in 24 hours.”

He said this at a press briefing on Thursday.

The panel mayor said, “people of Dhaka played more responsible role to keep the city clean this year.”

“They showed more responsible actions in cooperating the city corporations’ initiative to manage waste,” he added.

Around 2,01,500 animals were sacrificed in DNCC area in the 183 designated spots, he said; adding that this year more people responded to sacrificing their animals in the designated spots.

Around 280 waste disposal vehicles carried 8,500 tonnes of waste to landfills in 1,545 trips. A total of 9,500 cleaners diligently worked to make Dhaka clean in 24 hours, he added.
