Staff Correspondent: The authority of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched a hotline number in order to provide support to the people injured in the devastating fire incident that broke out in old Dhaka’s Chalkbazar area last night.
The people injured in the fire can dial the hotline number—9556014—for help.
DSCC mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon came up with the information after visiting the spot on Thursday afternoon.
“The ongoing drive for the eviction of chemical and flammable substance godowns will continue…no chemical godown would be allowed here,” the DSCC mayor said after concluding the rescue operation in the city’s Chalkbazar fire incident this afternoon.
The Chalkbazar fire incident took place at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday night that claimed 70 lives, including three children and five women, so far.
