Staff Correspondent: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has cancelled weekly holiday of its officials and employees in a bid to prevent mosquito-borne Chikungunya disease.
DSCC Public Relations Officer Uttam Kumar Roy confirmed the news on Monday afternoon.
DSCC officials and employees will have to attend office in next Friday and Saturday and the order will continue until further notice, said Uttam Kumar.
He said DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon has announced to bring the Chikungunya disease under control within two or three weeks as the outbreak of mosquito-borne Chikungunya disease has spread in many areas of the capital Dhaka.
In an attempt to destroy mosquitoes and strengthen cleanliness activities in the city, the mayor has come up with the decision, he said.
