DU VC among 3 three sued for contempt of court

Staff Correspondent: A contempt of court case has been filed against Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman and two others for not taking steps to arrange election of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU), despite order of High Court (HC) in this regard.

The other accused of the case are: Proctor Dr AKM Golam Rabbani and Treasurer Dr Kamal Uddin.

Writ petitioner Advocate Monjil Morshed lodged the case with the HC section concerned on Wednesday.

Hearing might be held at the bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam on next Sunday, according to Monjil Morshed.

Earlier on September 4, contempt of court notice was served to the three for not taking steps of holding DUCSU polls despite an HC order.
