DUCSU polls on March 11

Staff Correspondent: The schedule for Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election has been announced.

According to the announcement, the elections will be held on 11 March. Nomination paper will be distributed from February 19 to 25 while last day for submission of nomination is February 26.

Chief Returning Officer Prof Dr. S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman came up with the declaration while addressing a press briefing at DU’s Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban today.

Dhaka University (DU) authorities fixed the age limit at 30 years for the candidates of the elections to DU Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall unions. Students who enrolled in the university through honours admission tests and are currently pursuing Honours, Masters’ and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) courses can take part in the elections.

DUCSU, which was once considered as a breeding ground of politics, was last held on June 6, 1990. It was the sixth election after the country’s independence.
