Deaf T20 Cricket: Pakistan beat Bangladesh in opener

Sports Correspondent: Pakistan beat the hosts Bangladesh by 38 runs in the opening match of The Walton Deaf Tri-Nation T20 Cricket Tournament at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Cricket Stadium in Fatullah on Friday.

Visiting Pakistan scored 117 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs after Bangladesh captain Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury had invited them to bat first.

In chase, Bangladesh managed to score 79 runs by 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Pakistan’s Bilawal Yousuf hit 30 runs off 29 balls with three fours and a six, helping the team to put Bangladesh on a challenging target.

M. Qamar Naveed (captain) scored 25 runs while opener Jabbar Ali bagged 13 runs and Muhammad Waqas 15 runs.



Bangladesh’s Afsaruddin Riyad got two wickets while GM Mahbubur Rahman Setu and Aksar Ahmed shared a wicket each.

Bangladesh were not in rhythm from the very beginning of the innings to score a target of 118 runs set by Pakistan. Skipper Shahriar scored the best innings of 19 runs. Imran Khan smashed 13 runs before being run-out to the pavilion.

Besides, Saidur Rahman, Akib Mahmud, Rubel Hossain and Aksar Ahmed scored 12, 10, 7 and 6 runs respectively.

For Pakistan, Waqas, Naveed and Naeem Arshad bagged two wickets each and Bilal Tariq got a wicket.
