Destiny director sentenced to 2-year of imprisonment

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Monday sentenced Destiny director Mejbah Uddin Swapan to two-years of imprisonment on charges of hiding wealth statement.

Dhaka special Judge's Court-7 Justice Shahidul Islam passed the order.

The court also fined the convict Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer 3 months more imprisonment.

Earlier, ACC served notices on the top official of Destiny Group to submit personal wealth report within 7 work days. Later, on June 28, 2016, ACC assistant director Mozammel Hossain filed the case as the Destiny director failed to do so within the stipulated time.
