Dhaka’s waste can generate 60-70 MW electricity

Parliament Correspondent: State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that it is possible to generate 60 to 70 megawatts electricity from wastes of two Dhaka city corporations.
The state minister disclosed this in parliament on Thursday while responding to a question from Awami League lawmaker Kamal Ahmed Majumder (Dhaka-15).
Nasrul Hamid said, “A plan has primarily been taken to generate 35 megawatts electricity from waste of each of Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka North City Corporation under private sector through appointing entrepreneurs.”
