Digital Security Act to be passed in next JS session

Staff Correspondent: Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar has said that the Digital Security Act will be passed in next session of Jatiya Sangsad (JS).

The minister said this while speaking at the inaugural function of a workshop titled "Awareness of girls in digital security” at Azimpur Govt Girls School and College in the city on Thursday.

"Female students are becoming victims as they lack knowledge about digital devices....Awareness needs to be created through imparting adequate knowledge about the constantly changing digital world", he said.

Jabbar said, "We are thinking to bring all female students from primary to tertiary levels under cyber security. But we want to start awareness campaign from school level as students under primary and secondary levels are more vulnerable in case of cyber security compared to the students of colleges and universities".

Office of the Controller and Certifying Authorities (CCA) under ICT Division organized the workshop.

CCA organized workshops at 40 schools under eight divisions for creating awareness about cyber security among 10,225 female students last year.

As part of continuation of the massive awareness campaign, the CCA is holding workshops at 100 schools under eight divisions this year to educate 25,000 girl students about different patterns of cyber crimes through digital devices.
