Dinajpur boiler blast death toll rises to 9

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: Five more people who sustained burn injuries in a boiler explosion at a rice mill in Dinajpur on Wednesday died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday, raising the death toll from the incident to nine.

The Sunday's victims were identified as Shafikul Islam, 19, Uday Chandra, 50, Dulal Chandra, 35, Delwar Hossain, 38, Rice Mill manager Ranjit Basak, 50, Ranjita Rani Roy, 40, Moksen Ali, 50, Ariful Islam, 30 and Rostom Ali, 45.

Besides, ten more burnt victims are taking treatment in hospital.

Rangpur Medical College Hospital Dr Maruful Islam confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

On Wednesday (April 19), two workers, including a female one, were killed and 28 others suffered burn injuries as the boiler went off at ‘Jamuna Auto Rice Mill’ around 11:00am.
