Do not term anyone Razakar before conviction: Tribunal

Staff Correspondent: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 asked all not to term anyone Razakar before his conviction by the special court.

A three-member bench led by Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the ICT-1, came up with the instruction on Sunday.

The instruction came while holding hearing on a prosecution plea to allow the investigation agency to interrogate three Naogaon war crimes accused at their safe home. In that plea, the probe body had termed the three as Razakars, prosecutor Tapas Kanti Baul said.

The three-member bench, in the meantime, accepted the prosecution plea, allowing the probe body to interrogate the three accused Rezaul Karim Montu, Ishak Ali and Shahid Mandal at its safe home on May 8 and 9.

The three accused were arrested on February 10 and later shown arrested in war crimes case.

The ICT-1 on February 2 issued arrest warrant against him. The prosecution, however, declined to give more information about the fugitive accused.
