Drug trader hurt in Kishoreganj gunfight

Kishoreganj Correspondent: A suspected drug trader was injured in a ‘gunfight’ with police in Ghagra Bazar area of Sabashpur village in Mithamain upazila early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Khairul, son of Khunu Mia.

Police said that Khairul Islam was arrested with 100 pieces of Yaba pills on Thursday night. But, drug traders and relatives of Khairul snatched him from police. Meanwhile, two cops named SI Nazmul Islam and ASI Nuru Mollah received injuries.

Later, the law enforcers again arrested Khairul from the village around 3:00am and the gunfight took place, leaving him bullet injured.

Confirming the matter, Mithamain police station OC Md Jakir Rabbani said two cases will be filed in this regard.
