‘Drug trader’ killed in Teknaf gunfight

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A suspected drug trader was killed in a 'gunfight' between two groups of drug traders in Satghoria Para of Shiyallagona hilly area in Teknaf upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 24, son of Shah Alam, hailed from Purba Moheshkhalia para.
Police said that being tipped off that two groups of drug peddlers locked into clash in the area, a team of police conducted a drive. Sensing the presence of police, the drug traders opened fire, forcing them to retaliate, triggering the gun fight.
After the gunfight, police rescued Abdur Rahman who sustained bullet injuries and took him to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex but he died on way to hospital.
Meanwhile, Police recovered 3,000 Yaba tablets, one LG, three rounds cartridge and six round bullet shells from the spot.
The body was kept at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
