E-BIN registration to continue till December 31

Economic Correspondent: National Board of Revenue (NBR) authority has started online VAT registration electronic business identification number (E-BIN), which will continue so that businesspeople can run their activities in a hassle-free environment.

On July 27, in a public notice, the NBR said, the businesses which still did to collect e-BIN or nine digit registration number will be able to operate their activities by using the old 11-digit Value Added Tax (VAT) registration up to December 31.

The government held up the enforcement of the Value Added Tax (VAT) and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 but online VAT registration will continue and businesses will have to take e-BIN for smooth operation of their activities, according to the National Board of Revenue.
