E-passport to be distributed from July

Parliament Correspondent: The activities of electronic passport (e-passport) and electronic gate (e-gate) will be visible after the last phase of July month, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said. 

The minister made the announcement while addressing a discussion at the national parliament on Saturday.

He said, “We provided machine readable passport (MRP) to 2.50 crore of people. Now we are going to launch e-passport, e-gate keeping pace with the globe. The activities of e-passport will be visible by July month.”

“Following the e-passport, no one will be able to leave country using fake papers. Digital Bangladesh will be established through that,” he said.
