EC happy with experimental use of EVM in RCC polls

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said, “We are happy with the experimental use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) in the election to the Rangpur City Corporation (RCC).”

The CEC made the comment while talking to journalists after watching the situation of the RCC polls through video conferencing from Nirbachon Bhaban in Agargaon area of Dhaka on Thursday noon.

“It will not be possible to use EVM in the national election although it can be used in the local polls,” Huda said.

He said, “Voting is being held in Rangpur city throughout the day in a festive mood. No allegation was found from voters and local people. I am happy with such peaceful voting.”
