EC restores 53 nominations

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission has restored the nominations of 53 nominees after hearing their appeal petitions.

The commission started hearing at Agargaon in the capital at 10:00am on Thursday to dispose the appeals.

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda is leading the hearing process. Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukdar, Md. Rakibul Islam, Kabita Khanam and Brigadier general (retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury joined the process.  

The commission will hear appeals of 160 rejected aspirants today.

Cleared nominees include:
AKM Mukhlesur Rahman of Sherpur-2, Maulana Muhammad Solaiman Khan Rabbani of Habiganj-4, Alauddin Mridha of Natore-4, Yunus Ali of Kurigram-4, Anisuzzaman of Barishal-2, Selim Bhuiyan of Dhaka-5, KM Mujibul Haque of Cumilla-3, Faizul Munir Chowdhury of Sylhet-5, Ahammad Tayebur Rahman of Mymensingh-3, Abbdul Mannan of Jhenaidah-4, Syed Anor Ahmed Liton of Brahmanbaria-3, Mamunur Rashid of Brahmanbaria-5, Abu Asif of Brahmanbaria-2, Jakir Hossain of Dhaka-14, Farhad Hossain of Panchagarh-2, Ataur Rahman of Manikganj-3, M A Bashar of Mymensingh-8, Abu Bakar Siddique of Dhaka-14, Abdul Khalek of Kurigram-3, Mahbub Alam of Laxmipur-1, Md.
