EC starts updating voter list from July 25

Staff Correspondent: Election Commission (EC) will start updating the voter list from July 25 across the country.

EC Secretary Mohammad Abdullah briefed journalists at the Election Commission Secretariat at Agargaon in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.

The EC secretary said the voter list update programme will begin from July 25 and continue till August 9.

Those who will be 18-years old or older on January 1, 2018 will be included to the updated voter list, the EC official said.

The EC will go to each home of the country and collect photos, fingerprints and other information, he added.

People who changed their location during the process will have to fill up a specific form provided by Election Commission with their new address. They will also have to submit necessary documents to the Thana Election Office where they want to be a voter.
