'EC to do everything for fair election'

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said the Election Commission (EC) will do possibly everything to hold a free and fair election according to the constitution.

The CEC made the opinion while addressing a meeting with district and local election officers centering preparation of the National Parliamentary election at Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.

Aiming the officers, he said the government changes through elections. All types of issues should be given priority including security of voters, code of conduct of candidates.

The CEC also directed the officers so that they do not get influenced during performing their election duties.
