EC to sit with law enforcement agencies Thursday

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) will sit with law enforcement agencies to discuss over various issues including illegal fire arms recovery ahead of upcoming general election.

EC secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed made the disclosure while addressing reporters at Agargaon Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.

He said, direction will be given in the meeting regarding illegal arms recovery drive, security of minority people, safe movement of female voters, security to returning officers and assistant returning officers and issues.

Helal Uddin Ahmed also said, “We are going to sit with top officials of police department to discuss law enforcement issues following 11th parliamentary election. A total 12 points directions will be provided during the meeting.”

Chief Election Commissioner, IGP, public security division secretary, metropolitan police commissioners, deputy inspector generals of Police and SPs will join the meeting.
