EU election observation team due in November

Staff Correspondent: A two-member delegation of European Union (EU) Election Observation Mission will visit Bangladesh in last week of November to see the process and environment of the upcoming 11th parliamentary election.

The European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink said this after a meeting held with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on Thursday.

The two-member delegation of EU will visit Bangladesh in last week of November to see the election process and atmosphere of polls. They will stay here in Bangladesh for several weeks, the EU ambassador said.

“Competitive and participatory election is important to make it a acceptable one. EU is ready to offer any help regarding this,” she said.

Earlier around 11:00am, a seven-member delegation of European Union held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda.
