‘EVM to be used in Gazipur, Khulna city polls’

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) K M Nurul Huda has said that Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be used in the election of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) and Khulna City Corporation (KCC) scheduled to be held on May 15.

CEC came up with the disclosure while replying to a query of newsmen at Election Building of the capital’s Agargaon on Saturday noon.

K M Nurul Huda said, “We expect to use EVM in several centres on test in the polls. We’ll also try our best to use Close Circuit (CC) cameras in as many centres as we can.”

Earlier, CEC announced the schedule for GCC and KCC to hold polls on May 15.
