Easy bike kills schoolboy in capital

Staff Corresondent: A schoolboy was killed as a three-wheel battery-run auto-rickshaw, popularly known as easy bike hit him at Bede Potti of Road no. 21, Sector no. 10 in the capital's Uttara around 11:00am on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Md Rasel, 12, son of Ismail Hossain, hailed from Komolkanda of Netrokona.

Deceased's father Ismail Hossain said Rasel, a third-grader, was living with him at Panua village of Shimultoli area in Gazipur. He reached Dhaka on Saturday morning to visit his aunt's home. A battery-run easy bike hit him while he was crossing the Bede Potti road, leaving critically injured. He was rushed to Uttara General Hospital immediately. Later, he was referred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue, said Bachchu Mia, Sub-Inspector (SI) of the DMCH police outpost.
