'Economical progress won't be hampered'

Staff Correspondent: Finance Minister AMA Muhith said there will be no negative impact on the ongoing process of economy if new government takes charge.

The finance minister made the opinion while addressing a seminar at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Sunday.

Muhith said the national election will be held within next three months. If new government is formed through the process of election then there will be no negative impact on the way of economical progress.

Giving importance on the sustainable development, he said, "Our neighboring nations India, Nepal, Bhutan and other countries have the ability to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). India is our big partner in economic development. Besides, China is also there. The government wants to sit over the financial issues of recently ended fiscal year. In this case, all the organizations related to the economy, including the auditor, will be informed later."

Ms. Mia Seppo, UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, Pietro Bertazzi, Head of Sustainable Development, Global Reporting Initiative and others attended the function.
