Edu Minister meets heads of Dhaka’s schools, colleges

Staff Correspondent: Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid held meetings with the principals of colleges and headmasters of schools in Dhaka city on Sunday over the evolving situation centring the death of two students in road accident.

The minister began separately meeting with the college principals at 3:00pm while with school headmasters at 5:00pm at International Mother Language Institute.

The meetings were convened in the wake of spreading of violence across Dhaka on Saturday and Sunday.

On July 29 (Sunday), Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, students of the college section of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as a Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan bus (Dhaka Metro B 11-9297) ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road in the capital.

The incident triggered a strong demonstration across the country including the capital Dhaka.
