Edu' minister's PO among three sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent three people including two officials of the Education Ministry to jail on graft charges.

The convicts were known as Motaleb Hossain, personal officer to Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid,  Md Nasiruddin, upper division assistant (UDA) of the ministry, and Lakehead Grammar School owner Khaled Hasan Motin.

Ziarul Islam, judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court, passed the order on Tuesday after hearing in the case.

Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case SI Firoz appeared them before the court and filed a petition to land them in jail.

On Monday, a case was filed against them.

Monirul Islam Mrida of Detective Branch of Police of South Division filed the case against them on various charges, including taking bribe.

On Sunday night, detectives of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested all the three ‘missing’ people from different areas of the city.
