Education Minister’s PO goes missing

Staff Correspondent: Now personal officer (PO) of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has gone “missing” from Basila area of Dhaka two days after the disappearance of an education ministry staff.

Md Motaleb Hossain, the PO of the Education Minister, was allegedly abducted by some unknown men on Saturday afternoon from Basila area.

A general diary was filed with Hazaribagh police station in this regard yesterday.

Confirming the matter, Mir Alimuzzaman, officer- in-charge (OC) of Hazaribagh police station, said Motaleb Hossain went to supervise the construction work of his multi-storey building in Basila area on Saturday afternoon. At that time, several people came by a microbus and picked up him from the area.

We have visited the spot from where he was picked up and are looking into the matter, the OC added.

On Thursday (January 18), Nasir Uddin, an upper division assistant (UDA) and also the secretary general of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Government Staff and Officials’ welfare forum, went missing.
