Ekushey Book Fair ends

Staff Correspondent: The month-long 'Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela' in the capital has ended today (February 28).
The book air officially ended at 8:30pm.
Thousands of booklovers thronged the Bangla Academy and Suhrawardy Udyan in a frantic dash to buy their favourite books.
On the last day of the book fair, people were seen moving from one stall to another at the fair in search of their favourite books. They spent a busy time with the stall attendants in choosing and buying the books.
Books worth Tk 65.40 crore were sold in the month long Amar Ekushey Granthamela-2017.
Visitors of all ages flocked to different stalls and pavilions to buy books of their favorite authors. Many of them were seen returning homes with bags of books.
Dr Jalal Ahmed, member secretary of the fair committee said Bangla Academy will organize a better book fair in the next year.
