‘Election field won’t be left without challenges’

Senior Correspondent: Urging party leaders and activists to keep preparations to resist the upcoming election, BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed said that their party will not leave the field without challenges.

The BNP stalwart said this while speaking at a protest meeting in the capital’s Jatiya Press Club on Saturday noon.

He said, “We have to take preparations in the next two and a half months that we will not let happen the 2018 election. We will also not leave the field without challenges. The conspiracy of arranging one-sided polls must be resisted.”

“Now it is time to wage protest. We will announce programmes in time. Now we need preparations to take streets. Whatever is said by local and foreign allies, no inclusive election will not be occurred in the country without BNP,” he added.

Moudud said, “It is the first condition to release BNP chairperson Khaleda for holding the next general election in free and fair manner. The second condition is to dissolve the parliament. The third one is deployment of Army during the polls and giving them power of magistracy and the fourth and final condition is reformulation of the Election Commission (EC).”
