Ensure equal rights for all candidates: CEC

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda has instructed returning officers to treat all the candidates equally.

“You (Returning Officers) have to perform the duties neutrally. Ensure equal opportunity to each candidate,” he said.

The CEC said this while addressing a workshop of Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) of Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions at Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday.

Stay alert so that no one can get additional facilities or no one can deprive of legal rights, he said.

He also said, “It is your duty to ensure fair election environment.”

Election training institute director general Mostafa Faruq spoke on the occasion.
