'Everybody will be searched in Book Fair'

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said tight security will be ensured at Bangla Academy premises along with Suhrawardy Udyan on Ekushey Book Fair in February.

Besides, everybody will be searched before entering into the fair, he added.

DMP Commissioner said this while speaking a programme at DMP Headquarters in the capital on Thursday.

He said enough number of police in uniform and plain clothes will deployed in the fair premises. The surroundings of the fair will be observed by CCTV. Foot and motorcycle patrolling of police will be ensured to prevent eve-teasing and any other unwanted incident.

Besides, watch-tower, fire tender and first aid will be arranged on the occasion, he added.

The Book Fair will be free from hawkers, he said.
