'Everything with India to be dealt with friendship relation'

Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said everything between Bangladesh and India would be dealt out maintaining friendly relations, nothing detrimental to the country would be done.
The Prime Minister said this at a function at her office on the occasion of handing over allotment letters of the plots of Police Officers' Housing Society (POHS).
She said vested quarter also termed the 25 years Friendship Agreement
1974 as the agreement of slavery. But, Bangladesh gained more from the agreement including settlement of the issue of land boundary.
Briefing reporters after the meeting PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim said the Prime Minister hold the post-1975 government for deterioration of relation of Bangladesh with India.
Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia had never taken any initiative to solve the land boundary dispute with India. Rather they indulged terrorist activities on the border, the Press secretary said quoting the Prime Minister.
BNP-Jamaat were the mastermind behind all terrorist activities in the country and kingpin of the consignment of ten truck arms and ammunition which were brought in Bangladesh aimed at smuggling to India through border during last BNP regime, she said.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh has come to a solution with India on this issue of land boundary keeping their friendship intact. With the similar spirit the issue of maritime boundary with India and Myanmar were settled, she said.
Appreciating the role of police and other law enforcing agencies in combating militancy and terrorism the Prime Minister said a quarter criticizes our action against militants.
But, Bangladesh is the only country in the world which could show success in bursting militants den beforehand of their actions, she said.
The Prime Minister said the duties of the police are very hard as they don't have an working hour. They need to go to duty whenever they are called in, she said.
Sheikh Hasina said her government has taken steps for more recruitment in police force keeping consistency with the country's demographic composition. Already around 41,000 policemen were recruited and 10,000 more would be appointed very soon, she said.
Pointing out the steps taken by her government for welfare of the police and their family members the Prime Minister said her government has taken the initiative first in 2000 for establishing police Staff College.
